The performances of a quartz crystal microbalances (QCMs) based on an electronic nose (E-nose), modified with hairpin-DNA (hpDNA) for carrot aroma profiling has been evaluated. Solid phase micro-extraction (SPME) headspace sampling, combined with gas chromatography (GC), was used as a reference method. The changes in carrot aroma profiles stored at different temperatures (−18 °C, 4 °C, 25 °C, and 40 °C) were monitored during time up to 26 days. The principal component analysis of the data eviden
Abstract
For the first time, the beneficial "Ethanol as Internal Standard (IS)" method developed for the analysis of alcoholic products was tested in headspace mode of solid-phase microextraction gas chromatography with flame ionization detector (SPME-GC/FID) and compared with the traditional IS method. The extraction and separation conditions were optimized for the analysis of 10 volatile congeners prescribed in European legislation. To evaluate the accuracy of the compared methods, thr
The present work describes the relationship between volatile aroma components and flavours of Fenghuang Dancong tea. Volatile aroma components of five types of Fenghuang Dancong tea namely Baxian, Milanxiang, Yulanxiang, Guihuaxiang, and Yinhuaxiang were extracted by headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME), then analysed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) technique and gas chromatography olfactometry (GC-O) techniques. The GC-MS results showed that a total of 116 volatile co
Abstract
This paper focuses on enhancing the mechanical properties of carbon fiber-reinforced polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) thermoplastic film composites. We achieve this by employing a controlled hot press process, which involves forming composites with woven carbon fiber layers integrated with the PPS film matrix and subjecting the mixture to elevated temperature and pressure conditions using a hot press. This technique facilitates the complete consolidation of the composite layup
The prevalence of osteoporosis, especially among the elderly, is increasing exponentially, leading to an increase in the number of fractures and disability. As a result, new requirements for anti-osteoporotic therapy appear, associated with its influence not only on the remodeling of healthy bone, but also on the acceleration of fracture consolidation. The article provides a brief overview of the effect of various anti-osteoporotic drugs on the healing of bone fractures. An assessment of the con

Abstract: This study assesses the effectiveness of Nano-Hydroxyapatite (nHAp) in treating fractures related to osteoporosis using experimental animal models based on existing research. The focus is on improving the Quality of Life (QoL) through bone healing mechanisms. Methods: A systematic review employing experimental methods was conducted to induce fractures in animal models with osteoporosis and then treat them with nHAp. Objective: This study aims to evaluate nHAp by measuring clinical and

Abstract
The quality evaluation of the activated carbon made from agricultural waste is investigated in the adsorption of phenol. Adsorbent was prepared through the activation of orthophosphoric acid, producing a structure that is porous with a surface area of 1090 m2/g. Elemental composition analysis confirmed that the carbon composition is 78.23%. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and other characterizations were conducted to study the structural, chemical and thermal performanc
