Flexural strength of foam‐filled polymer composite sandwich panel with novel M‐shaped core reinforced by nano‐SiO2 (2021)

AbstractPresent article has experimentally determined the flexural strength of carbon fiber reinforced polymer sandwich panel reinforced by nano‐SiO2 with novel M‐shaped lattice core. For this purpose, a polymer composite sandwich panel with M‐shaped core made of carbon‐epoxy fiber has been fabricated in this experiment. In order to fabricate the sandwich panels, the vacuum assisted resin transfer molding has been used to achieve a laminate without any fault. Afterward, polyurethane foam (PU) ha

Pectinolytic Bacterial Consortia Reduce Jute Retting Period and Improve Fibre Quality (2020)

AbstractJute fibre is the second most important fibre next to cotton. It is obtained from the bark of plant through microbial retting process. Here we report optimized microbial retting protocol that can lower retting period and produce high fibre quality. A total of 451 bacterial colonies have been isolated from five jute retting water samples in Bangladesh. Higher pectinolytic bacterial isolates were predominant in the later stage of jute retting. Out of these, 168 isolates have been screened

Effects of chitin and chitosan on root growth, biochemical defense response and exudate proteome of Cannabis sativa (2022)

Abstract Fungal pathogens pose a major threat to Cannabis sativa production, requiring safe and effective management procedures to control disease. Chitin and chitosan are natural molecules that elicit plant defense responses. Investigation of their effects on C. sativa will advance understanding of plant responses towards elicitors and provide a potential pathway to enhance plant resistanc

Fiber-Reinforced Cement Paste Composites for Better Sustainability (2020)

Extinction of natural resources builds up pressure on governments to invest in research to find more sustainable resources for construction sector. Earlier studies on mortar and concrete show that bottom ash and basalt fiber are independently alternative binder in the concrete sector. This study aims to use bottom ash and basalt fiber blends as alternative novel-based composites in pure cement paste. Strength and durability properties of two different percentages of bottom ash (40% and 50%) and
